The Alicia Morris Memorial Fund has been distributing grants since 2019. Here’s what we’ve funded so far:

2019

  • Dr. Schwartz is the former chief of the Hematology & Oncology Division at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The Alicia Morris Memorial Fund donates annually to Dr. Schwartz to promote his research on melanoma and sarcoma cancers.

2020

  • Discovery Schoolhouse, located in Milton, MA, provides a warm, nurturing, supportive, educational, and enjoyable experience for a diversity of families and children by bringing together Milton and the Boston neighborhoods of Hyde Park and Mattapan

  • Raw Art Works, located in Lynn, MA, is a youth arts organization, rooted in art therapy, offering a variety of free programming from painting to filmmaking, for kids in grades 4-12.

  • Wide Rainbow is a free contemporary art after-school program based in NYC that connects contemporary artists with the community, working in under-resourced neighborhoods with limited or no access to the arts or arts education.

  • Pickwick is a community print studio located in Portland, Maine, that provides a practical physical space that serves artists’ needs as makers. By sharing the burden of equipment costs and studio rental fees, artists can focus their resources on their work.

  • Americans Who Tell the Truth crafts collaborative educational and community experiences that illuminate the ongoing struggle to realize America’s democratic ideals and model the commitment to act for the common good. Through making art, facilitating journeys of individual and community discovery, and demonstrating how history shapes lives, AWTT inspires a future of active citizenship.
